We have just held elections for the next year. The election went like this.

Officers:

Vice Pres - Steve Bonner

With our first Board of Directors and our newly elected officers, especially our new President, Byron Mumaw, I believe we are poised for a new level of growth and community participation. I am confident Byron is the man for the job at this time. I wish him and our club great success.

I have been honored and have enjoyed serving our club as President for the past two years. We have come a long way since those first couple of meetings to discover the level of interest and then the Steering Committee. We have enjoyed some accomplishments as a club during this time and they are a result of the participation and commitment made by you, our members, with your various talents and skills. You have setup and manned telescopes at events, volunteered to serve as officers, edited, published and even mailed out the newsletter, contributed your money toward guest speaker's dinner, attended events, even in Raleigh, volunteered to host events at your site, contributed to discussions, acted as laison with other entities, located new viewing sites, contributed to the newsletter, invited others to our club and the AITP, assisted visitors, helped with the scheduling of speakers, promoted our activities in various ways, researched and produced our by-laws, prepared and gave presentations, and in so many other ways you have helped make our club a viable entity with a future in our community. You've done good things in our club.

Now with newly elected officers and our first Board of Directors we need you all to continue supporting the activities of the club and especially Byron as President while he and the Board focus on our direction for next year. With your support and our new leadership we have a promising future.
